Water Features

The element that brings a garden to life

A well-placed water feature does more than decorate a garden — it changes how a space feels. The sound of falling water softens traffic noise, reflective pools draw the sky into the landscape, and moving water cools the air in Rajasthan's dry heat.

TNC Architects designs and builds water features as an integrated part of the landscape — engineered for reliable circulation, easy maintenance and a finish that matches the architecture of the home or property around it.

What We Design

Every water feature we design & build

Garden Fountains

Standalone and wall-mounted fountains in stone, marble or cast finishes — sized for courtyards, entrances and garden focal points.

Reflecting Pools

Shallow, still-water pools that mirror the sky and architecture — a calm visual anchor for lawns, courtyards and entrance approaches.

Cascades & Waterfalls

Rock and tiered waterfalls built into landscape slopes or raised planters — the sound of falling water masking outside noise.

Ornamental Ponds

Lined or natural-finish ponds with planting margins, suited to koi, lotus and aquatic gardens — built with proper filtration.

Swimming Pools

Residential and farmhouse swimming pools — structural design, waterproofing, filtration and deck integration with the landscape.

Spouts & Rills

Narrow channel rills and wall spouts that lead the eye through a garden — formal water lines for courtyards and terraces.

Engineering & Systems

Beautiful on the surface, engineered beneath it

A water feature that looks effortless depends entirely on what is built underneath — waterproofing, pump sizing, plumbing layout and filtration. TNC Architects designs every system before construction begins, so the feature runs reliably for years.

Waterproofing & Lining

RCC tanks treated with crystalline or membrane waterproofing, or EPDM/PVC pond liners for natural-finish ponds — no seepage, no top-up loss.

Pump & Plumbing Sizing

Pump flow rate, head height and pipe diameter calculated for the specific feature — correct circulation without excess noise or energy use.

Filtration & Water Treatment

Biological and mechanical filtration for ponds and pools, UV sterilisation where required, and automated top-up to offset evaporation.

Water Feature Materials TNC Architects
Materials & Finish

Finished to match the architecture around it

A water feature should belong to the property, not sit apart from it. TNC Architects selects stone, tile, planting and lighting that continue the material language of the home or landscape — formal and minimal, or natural and rustic, by design.

Stone & Tile Selection

Natural stone, marble, pebble and glass mosaic finishes matched to the building's material palette and budget.

Underwater & Accent Lighting

Submersible LED lighting and feature uplighting designed in at the planning stage — for fountains and pools that perform after dark.

Planting Integration

Marginal and aquatic planting selected for the local climate — softening hard edges and supporting pond ecology naturally.

Our Process

How we deliver every feature

01
Site & Concept

Site visit, water source and drainage check, and concept sketch matched to the available space and budget.

02
Design & Engineering

Structural, waterproofing and plumbing drawings finalised — pump, filtration and lighting specified before construction.

03
Construction

Excavation, RCC or liner work, waterproofing, plumbing and stone/tile finishing executed under direct site supervision.

04
Testing & Handover

Water-fill testing, pump and filtration trial run, leak check, and a maintenance guide handed over with the feature.

Our Belief
"Water is the only material in a garden that moves, sounds and reflects all at once."

Why TNC Architects

Why clients choose TNC Architects

Designed, Not Default

Every feature drawn and sized for the actual site — never a catalogue fountain dropped into a random corner.

Engineering First

Waterproofing and pump sizing calculated upfront — fewer call-backs, no early leaks, long-term reliability.

Landscape Integrated

Water features designed alongside the wider landscape plan, not as an afterthought bolted onto a finished garden.

Tested Before Handover

Every system run and checked under real water flow before final handover — issues caught on-site, not at home.

Common Questions

Frequently asked questions

How much space does a water feature need?
It depends on the type — a wall fountain or rill can fit into a 2–3 ft wide space, while a reflecting pool or pond needs a more open area of the garden. We assess the available space during the site visit and recommend a feature that suits the proportions of the property.
How much maintenance does a water feature need?
A well-designed feature needs minimal upkeep — periodic filter cleaning, occasional top-up for evaporation, and a seasonal check of the pump. Ponds with fish or plants need slightly more attention to water quality. We provide a maintenance guide with every project.
Can a water feature be added to an existing garden?
Yes. Most fountains, rills and small ponds can be retrofitted into an existing landscape without major disruption. Larger pools or waterfalls may require some regrading or structural work, which we assess on-site.
Do water features use a lot of electricity or water?
Modern recirculating pumps are energy-efficient and run on a closed loop, so water use is limited to occasional top-up for evaporation. We size pumps correctly to avoid over-powered systems that waste electricity.
How long does it take to build a water feature?
A simple fountain or rill can be completed in 1–2 weeks. Ponds, waterfalls and swimming pools typically take 3–6 weeks depending on size, structural work and finishing detail.
